Covenant Communities (CC's)


A perfect way to glimpse the variety and vitality of churches in Denver Presbytery is by a visit to our Covenant Communities. In the Design of Denver Presbytery it states: “Covenant Communities of Churches provide the opportunity for sessions and congregations to be engaged with one another in ways that will mutually support and nurture each other. The purpose of the Covenant Communities is … to help the Presbytery more effectively strengthen local congregations. The task… is to nurture and develop vital congregations.” Those words offer the formal description, but, to be honest they miss the extraordinary exuberance, commitment and compassion that are found in our two covenant communities.

 

 

Mission  Shaped Church

This covenant community will create an adaptive shift around a grouping of churches by learning together how to form missional churches and shape  presbyteries that resource their churches in mission-shapred life.

South Metro Saints

The churches involved in the South Metro Saints Covenant Community are committed to creating a stronger connection between believers from different cultural backgrounds.  They accomplish this through joint worship services, fellowship opportunities and education opportunities.

Urban Core

The Urban Core Covenant Community is stirving to become better advocates for urban ministry by addressing the unique issue sof ministry in the urgan setting, including changing communities and demographics and mission concern sin the urgan core of Denver.  They are also looking at possible shared youth ministry.
